The whole family is best characterized by love of cooperation , support and helping one another. They did everything together, starting with the hay-making, to gathering mushrooms and berries in the woods. She knew how to sew well-needed clothing for yourself and children. Her baked cakes and pies were always very tasty. She also made Preserves for the winter, both her self and her children´s families.
Disaster struck in October 2005 when in a regular check up the doctor found a mass in her abdomen. Few weeks later she learned that it was cancer, doctor suggested a complex surgery to remove tumor and with it her stomach, so they had to make a new one out of her intestine. She had the surgery and lost a lot of weight, but she never lost the will and need to work. She was weaker, but she always waited for the spring to plant new seeds. Because of that Urve seemed strong, strong willed at least. The next three years went smoothly, but at the beginning of 2010 she was not feeling as well as she use to. Urve suffered from frequent abdominal pains and was more tired than usual. Her appetite was gone too. In September she was hospitalized because of the abdominal pains, came out that the bowel was blocked. She was hospitalized twice more between September and December. In mid-November doctors gave a little hope and time, because the cancer was back. The fourteenth day of December, was the day she was released from the hospital for the last time. Urve was taken home by her son Peter and looked after by her husband Mihhail and her daughter Anne. She passed away silently in her sleep, few hours before Christmas Eve, surrounded by the people who loved her.

Urve Rostin was not rich or famous, she was a simple woman, with simple wishes. She cared about her family and wanted only the best for them. She was a Great Person with capital letters.

Teie Maris.
